Iconic Dubai Architecture

Photobook Design

Project
Iconic Dubai Architecture is a personal editorial project created as a conceptual photobook exercise. I wanted to create the concept, the structure and design of the photobook based in the architecture design of the Iconic Dubai buildings.

Concept
This publication has been designed around geometric figures. On the cover,
the style is clear, defined after studying the graphic content of the book. The modern architecture of Dubai and its lines, both straight and curved, set an aesthetic precedent to be followed throughout the book.

My role
Art direction, editing, concept, design and layout.

The colour palette of the publication was selected following the main colours of the official flag of Dubai, in reference to the territory where the buildings are located.

I created a symbol to identify the publication.
Geometric shapes are used to symbolise both the sail of a boat and simultaneously the Burj Al Arab hotel, famously designed by Tom Wright to imitate a ships sail.
