Artistic Heritage in the Digital Era

Editorial Design

Client
The project was the creation of an editorial paper analyzing the state of digitalization in museums around the world.

Commissioned by Migration, a consultancy specializing in digitalization and digital transformation, the paper aimed to showcase their expertise in driving innovation and digital solutions in various industries, particularly cultural institutions.

My role in the project:
Art Direction, Design, Layout, Editing, Conceptualization.
I was responsible for defining the visual identity of the paper, ensuring it resonated with both the subject of museum digitalization and Migration's brand. I managed the full design process, from concept development to final layout and art direction, creating a cohesive and engaging publication.

Art direction

For this editorial project, I aimed to give it a unique visual identity that would resonate both with the company’s brand image and the specific thematic universe of museums. By doing so, I ensured that the project would stand out within the company's ecosystem while staying closely aligned with the subject matter it explores.

I carefully selected typography, colors, and directed the overall art to create a cohesive visual language that both honors the traditional elements of the museums and elevates the overall design. The choice of fonts and colors was key to achieving a balance between the company’s identity and the specific visual requirements of the museum theme.

I designed the map to simulate an interactive experience while adhering to the editorial style of this project. I chose an ancient museum map as the foundation, incorporating design elements that evoke interactivity to create an engaging visual that invites users to explore. This approach aligns with the overall art direction and enhances the project's storytelling by blending historical references with modern design aesthetics.

Throughout the project, I worked with real museum images, editing them to better align with the overall concept of the paper, creating a visual bridge between the historical and modern aspects of museum culture.

This project not only stood out within the company’s ecosystem but also served as a powerful tool to highlight their strategic vision and commitment to driving digital innovation across various sectors.

Conclusion

The final result was an editorial piece that successfully bridged the world of museums with the innovative and digital focus of Migration. Through thoughtful design choices, including typography, colors, and the integration of both historical and modern elements, the paper effectively conveyed the state of digitalization in museums while reinforcing the consultancy’s expertise in digital transformation.

This project not only stood out within the company’s ecosystem but also served as a powerful tool to highlight their strategic vision and commitment to driving digital innovation across various sectors.
