Tales Magazine
Conceptual Magazine Design
Client
Tales is a independent Spanish short story magazine. The publishers, Tales Magazine, sought to create a new concept and artistic direction for the magazine.
Concept
My design concept is inspired by the original illustrations and The New Yorker, the magazine's conceptual inspiration. For that reason, I proposed a magazine with two colours, black and red, and two typographies with which I could design, in entirety, each issue and its sections.
It was important to facilitate immersive reading, so I paid close attention to the typographies, text blocks and colours.
My role
Art direction, ideas and inspiration, research, concept, design and layout.

The Inspiration
The design is inspired by the original illustrations and classic New Yorker publications, the magazine's conceptual inspiration. That's why I proposed a magazine with two colors, black and red, and two typographies with which I could design the whole issue of the magazine and its sections.

It was important to facilitate the immersive reading, so I paid a lot of attention to the typographies, text blocks and colors.
